Getting to Know Mr. Simone

Hello students and parents/guardians of the Franklin Academy Sunrise campus! Let me formally introduce myself to those who have not had me yet.  (For those that did have me...not much has changed.) My name is John Michael Simone.  I have now lived in Florida for a little over 2 years.  Outside of my first few years living in the Bronx, I had lived my entire life up north in a suburb about an hour outside of New York City.

Prior to my two years at Franklin, I had been teaching as a substitute for four years, whereby I had come across many different experiences.  Prior to teaching, I worked for eight years in retail with one company where I had a variety of positions starting at Cashier, moving to Customer Service Manager and finally as a Receiver.  After that I worked at a pathology lab for five years where I worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst and then Supply Chain Manager.

My mom instilled an idea of how important education is in a person's life to me!  I have a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.  I also have an M.B.A. with a concentration in Organizational Behavior.  And finally, I have my Master degree in Education with a concentration in Adolescent Education, specializing in Social Studies.

I have many interests outside of the classroom.  I love to watch & play sports...especially baseball, basketball, football & hockey.  I love to read, listen to music, watch t.v., go to the movies & while back in New York I had a nice sized garden.  I love animals...cats in particular and cannot wait to adopt one when I am fully settled down here!  I am also a lover of the comic world - Marvel or D.C. they are both amazing to me!

Well, this is pretty much me in a nutshell!  I am truly looking forward to meeting my new students & parents/guardians as well as continuing my relationship with those I had last year and the year before!!!
